Professional Development

Professional Development takes many forms. Below I have included skills that enable me to be effective in my role as a leader within the Disability Services field, an advocate for  individuals with disabilities; as well as formal and informal education and training that have aided me in these roles.

Employee Leadership

Leadership in the healthcare field requires strength in two areas:

1. Interpersonal Communication and

2. Relationship building.

The ability to communicate your vision and purpose as well as to understand and listen to someone else's input is key to progress. I try to lead my team with determination and the openness to speak their mind in solving problems. Rapport building and the ability to show genuine interest in someones life help strengthen relationships and build strong teams. A strong and open team improves team efficacy.  Together these skills make Employee Leadership a valuable tool to any leader.
